Abstract

ABSTRACT

The behaviour of hollow reinforced concrete beam elements under earthquake force was studied and analyzed. The governing partial differential equation of the motion is the Euler-Bernoulli beam equation subjected to the simply supported boundary conditions. Aboodh transform method was used to solve the partial differential equation of the fourth order. The solution of the governing equation of hollow reinforced concrete beam elements under earthquake force was obtained and the behaviour of the beam elements under flexure and ductility were analyzed. The finding of the study revealed that the hollow reinforced concrete beams under flexure and ductility form a uniform support in order to reduce the impact of earthquake on structures which established the stability of the solution.

Keywords: Hollow, reinforced concrete, reinforced concrete beams, earthquake force, Aboodh transform method.
