Abstract

Inventory management is very good to operations everyday at shopping centers, but it is frequently complicated by errors and inefficiencies in human data entry. Although voice recognition technology can replace human data entry, standard models are not effective in actual retail environments. There is a lot of background noise in these retail spaces. In addition to understanding unique retail terms and stock codes, the technology must be able to communicate with multilingual individuals. In this project, a voice recognition system at Yakubu Shopping Mall is being developed and tested. Our strategy was to create language and sound models that function effectively in a mall setting. Word and sound samples from the mall were used to create these models. Additionally, we developed a system that makes use of microphones and a cloud-based computer program with natural language comprehension capabilities. Voice recordings from fifty mall workers were used to train the system. It was created to accommodate individuals who alternate between Hausa, the primary language of the area, and English. The system was tested in the mall. It was discovered that it significantly reduced errors from 18.5% to 4.2%. This demonstrate that if it is a stated fact that voice recognition technology is tailored to the particular environment and languages, it is very like it may function effectively in various contexts. People can use the technology more easily and retail businesses can operate more effectively as a result. Additionally, it offers a model for enhancing inventory management for other companies. For companies such as Yakubu Shopping Mall, voice recognition technologies and inventory management are crucial. Inventory management can be enhanced by the use of voice recognition technology. Boost its effectiveness. Voice recognition technology helps improve inventory management, which is a component of retail operations. The study conducted at Yakubu Shopping Mall demonstrates how voice recognition technology may be applied in environments to enhance inventory management.
